Founder & Director, Human Library Organization
Ronni Abergel is a Danish journalist, social change activist, and founder and CEO of the Human Library Organization. His journey as an activist began after a close friend was stabbed in 1993, leading him to co-found the Danish Stop The Violence Movement. In 2000, Ronni went on to create the Human Library, built around a simple but powerful idea: creating safe spaces where people can challenge stereotypes and assumptions through open, honest conversation with people they might otherwise never meet.
What began as an experiment at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival has grown into a global learning platform active in more than 85 countries across six continents. For more than 25 years, Ronni has led the Human Library’s work with communities, educational institutions and organisations around the world, creating opportunities for people to approach difference with curiosity rather than judgement. An internationally recognised speaker, he brings a deeply human perspective to conversations about prejudice, polarisation, inclusion and the power of dialogue to build greater understanding across difference.
